ALTO x BERNAR VENET

On April 2, 2026, at the Venet Foundation in Le Muy, alto unveils a singular collaboration with Bernar Venet — one of the most radical figures of contemporary art. This encounter is not a collaboration in the conventional sense. It is a translation. From monumental sculpture to intimate object, from Corten steel to patinated bronze : from public space to the wrist.

For over sixty years, Bernar Venet has explored a restrained vocabulary —lines, arcs, angles— allowing form to emerge from the tension between order and accident. At the heart of the piece lies a question: how can a collapse be contained within a few millimeters? The answer is neither decorative nor illustrative.

The dial becomes a micro-sculpture —an interlacing of arcs, composed as a controlled fall. Not a motif, but a structure. Not a surface, but a landscape. Each element has been developed in close dialogue with the artist, preserving the integrity of his language while adapting it to the constraints of horology.

The watch is crafted in a proprietary bronze alloy, developed specifically for this project. Its one-of-a-kind patina —stabilized yet alive— echoes the warm, evolving tones of Venet’s monumental works. Over time, it accompanies the wearer, marking a personal passage rather than a fixed appearance. It has an A01 Caliber with automatic micro-rotor. Power reserve of 48 h and a frequency of 4 Hz.
