Pierre Cardin SS27

Under the artistic direction of Rodrigo Basilicati-Cardin, the spirit of sport is embedded in the DNA of the Pierre Cardin Maison. More than a trend, it expresses a contemporary vision rooted in movement, freedom, comfort and sustainability. An approach that responds to the evolving aspirations of our society: well-being, protection and responsibility.

Pierre Cardin silhouette is reinvented through a fluid, dynamic architecture. Garments protect, become lighter and move naturally with the body. Generous, enveloping volumes, circles, curves and contrasts create a new graphic language that remains true to the House’s avant-garde spirit. Ready-to-wear becomes truly ready-to-live, designed to exist in harmony with the body. The collection draws inspiration from the world of sport, moves seamlessly into the everyday wardrobe and reinterprets the codes of elegance, all the way through to evening wear.

For this new presentation, Rodrigo Basilicati-Cardin chose ice as the setting, evoking both the House’s environmental commitments and the elegance of figure skating. The show took place at the heart of an ice rink, transforming the presentation of the collection into a true artistic performance.

Recycled fabrics and dormant stock dating from the 1970s through the 2010s have been repurposed to bring a collection to life that blends heritage with modernity. With this collection of 59 looks, Rodrigo Basilicati-Cardin continues his exploration of a fashion that is free, functional and responsible, remaining faithful to the visionary spirit of the Maison’s founder.

The fashion show was choreographed by Olivia Candeloro, the on-ice performance brought together Annette Dytrt, Sheryl Ovide-Étienne, Jiana Fortes and Maya Candeloro. As a special guest, Philippe Candeloro made a striking appearance. Alongside him were, Yannick Bonheur, five-time French pairs figure-skating champion and two-time Olympian, as well as ice free style performers Axel Girandier, an extreme-sports specialist, Corentin Dieumegard and Florian Dufrane.
