Mazarine – FW 19/20
by Antonio IRDA
Famous dancer Isadora Duncan inspired Hélène Timsit and Quentin Poisson, the creative director duo at Mazarine, to create their FW 19/20 collection. As it is known, Isadora Duncan was a figure in the 1900 Parisian avant-garde. This collection, “Isadora, a living sculpture”, imagines her evolving in a winter, floral décor, in the gardens of the hotel Biron, where she used to live.
Large ascending necks, superpositions, curved lines, all the Fortuny style insufflating volumes in most of the dresses and structured jackets, added a contemporary twist to the collection. Purples, browns and old roses accented with vermilion touches were the nuances of this Fall/Winter proposal. With the Palais de Tokyo as a choreography, Isadora Duncan was revived for a while.
