Team Canada x lululemon

This summer, all eyes will be on Paris for the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games. For lululemon, this will also mark the second chapter in their partnership as the Official Outfitter of Team Canada, and their first time creating an athlete kit for warm weather. Athletes inspired every element of this collection. The brand’s goal was to create something that supports Team Canada as they move through the Games and compete for themselves, their team, and their country.

This kit breaks new ground in solving for athlete’s holistic needs. It features ultra-lightweight fabrics, uniquely Canadian prints, and innovative construction—all made with insights from the world’s best. Lululemon designers worked with 19 different athletes across 14 different sports to understand what a day looks like at the Games—from an emotional, social, and physical perspective. The insight was that Team Canada athletes need a kit that offers adaptability, temperature control, and a meticulous fit. Using these insights, they designed a collection that gives athletes exactly what they need for complete comfort.

They hosted focus groups and in-person product testing sessions with Paralympians to make sure the gear meets their needs. Braille, magnetic-close zippers, pull-on loops, and other specially designed features show up throughout the collection. The result is a kit that’s more adaptive than ever before —including styles made specifically for sitting bodies.

A one-of-a-kind print celebrates the diversity of Canada and interprets the art, architecture, and nature found throughout the country. Each icon in the print is a small reminder of home, intended to create a sense of connection and pride for athletes getting ready to compete in Paris.

Athletes have options to layer up or down in gear created for unpredictable weather. Add sleeves or take them off, convert pants into shorts, and combine pieces whichever way feels best. Plus, lightweight, ultra-breathable fabric helps Team Canada stay cool and comfortable in the Paris heat. In short: this gear is game for anything.

The brand created the Closing Ceremony print in collaboration with Whistler-based artist Mason Mashon of the Saddle Lake Cree Nation. The print interprets signs of illumination in nature, like the Aurora Borealis, and celebrates the light Team Canada brings to the Games.

At the heart of the Team Canada collection is the Future Legacy giveback program. 10% of sales from all Future Legacy items support the Canadian Olympic Foundation and Paralympic Foundation of Canada. Both organizations help Canadian athletes access the resources, equipment, and funding they need to experience the power of sport—from dreams, to podium, and beyond.
