Veldt Mark 2

With three decades of hands-on experience in the motorcycle helmet industry, the brand Veldt gathers the know-how necessary to make the best possible helmet. By the way, “The Veldt” is a short story written by American author Ray Bradbury. Originally appearing as “The World the children made” in the 23 September 1950 issue of the Saturday Evening Post, it was republished under its current name in the 1951 anthology The Illustrated Man. In the story, two children solve their disappointment with their parents by escaping to a simulated grassland that proves all too real. The Veldt is also a type of wide open rural landscape in Namibia.

The new Veldt Mark 2 helmet doesn’t just offer protection from head injuries -or upset parents-, it also protects the face thanks to a chinguard which has successfully passed the certification for downhill mountain bike helmets. The Mark 2 is designed to meet the highest standards of safety and comfort for any riding adventure. The helmet meets certification requirements for cycling, e-biking including speedbikes (45km/h), skiing, and downhill mountain biking when used with its chinguard. It is equipped with the Mips® protection technology, which helps redirect forces away from the head. It also has reflective vents that enhance your visibility in low-light conditions.

To offer the best combination of lightness and impact protection, outer shells are made of carbon fiber baked in an autoclave. The production process takes about six hours. The carbon fiber used is from Toray of Japan, leather from Haas of France, and Indutan of Portugal, paint is from Akzonobel and the full-face motorcycle helmets come with Pinlock 120 lenses. Also, Mark 2 helmets use titanium screws which are strong, corrosion-resistant, and biocompatible.

The brand provides for bicycle, speed bike, and ski helmets, a 10-year guarantee, demonstrating its confidence in their durability.
