UGG / Germanier FW2223
Founded in 1978 by an Australian surfer on the coast of California, UGG® is a global lifestyle brand renowned for its iconic Classic boot. First worn by Hollywood royalty, fashion editors and then the world, UGG® designs and retails footwear, apparel, accessories, and homewares with an uncompromising attitude toward quality and craftsmanship. UGG® is an environmentally and socially conscious brand which strives to be socially just, economically inclusive, and environmentally restorative.
For the fall-winter 2022 collections, the brand has teamed up with fashion designer Kevin Germanier for the UGG’s debut show on the closing night of Paris Fashion Week. Thoughtfully integrating the bold DNA of both brands, Germanier merged the iconic silhouettes of the UGG® Classic Tall II and UGG® Classic Mini II boots to create a new look over-the-knee design exclusively for the runway. Mr. Germanier cheerfully stated: “I envisioned a very unique UGG Couture boot for this carte blanche. I like that the final result is unexpected. In these silhouettes, there is everything that roars in me, everything that pushes me to transform darkness into light, to tell life in all its brilliance.”

Heralded for his sustainable approach to fashion, 2018 marked the debut of Central Saint Martins graduate Kevin Germanier’s eponymous label: Germanier. The focus is on luxury upcycled fabrics with arresting details, such as discarded beads that the designer found during a work placement in Hong Kong, a prize for winning the Redress Award in 2015. Germanier eschews the homespun connotations for which eco-friendly fashion is known and instead draws inspiration from a futuristic vision of utopia.
