Lili – The Peninsula
The Lili is open as from September 15th. Boasting a Chinese Opera décor, this emblematic restaurant at The Peninsula is back to offer Parisians and tourists the delicacies from Cantonese cuisine. Chef Dicky To has taken advantage of his three years at the helm of the Parisian restaurant to explore French gastronomy, from its traditional techniques to its best regional delicacies. Chef Dicky To enlisted the influence of Chef David Bizet to put together a culinary orchestration that aims to bring guests on a journey of discovery paying homage to the two chefs’ Chinese and French cultures.
LiLi’s reopening heralds the great comeback of the Peking Duck, crafted in the purest Chinese tradition, as well as authentic pork, prawn, and vegetable dim sum. These contrast with a trio of novel, awe-inspiring creations that both chefs enjoyed crafting together; dim sum that take on great classical French dish such as beef bourguignon, bouillabaisse-style fish soup, or barigoule artichokes, and that are sure to surprise and stimulate the guests’ palates.
Typical mains are complemented by more East-West creations blending rich Chinese flavours and subtle French products, such as half-cooked tuna with black truffle and sesame, abalone and fried tofu accompanied by seaweed and black mushroom, or flambé beef short ribs, all dishes that guarantee an unparalleled tasting experience.
Desserts created by Anne Coruble, in charge of all sweet confections at The Peninsula Paris, follow a similar mixing of origins: Crispy chocolate tuile, ginger condiment and chocolate sorbet; Roasted pineapple with Madagascar vanilla ganache and fresh passion fruit; and mango poached in its own juice with fresh herbs sorbet.
In the fall, LiLi will complement its offering with a selection of its most iconic take-away dishes, to allow diners to enjoy the unparalleled LiLi experience at home.
The Head Sommelier of The Peninsula Paris restaurants, Florent Martin, has composed a wine selection aligned with its singular flavors, extending his selection to include kombuchas and teas to offer an alternative to the traditional food and wine pairing.
