Carlton Cannes – Auction by Aguttes
A unique and important auction will take place on-line from May 10th through May 26th. The organizer is Maison Aguttes, the reputed auction house of Neully, which has been charged to sell the furniture of the Carlton Cannes iconic suites and reception areas.
In 2013 this five stars hotel celebrated its 100th anniversary. Due to the sanitary conditions prevailing, major restauration and maintenance will take place in the hotel the next couple of years. The Carlton has always been a central spot for the Cannes Festival since its creation in 1939. Home to notorious movie stars and celebrities, the place is a historical monument for Cannes and all what the city represents.
More than 600 lots have been selected in order to be sold in auction. Aguttes is proposing bidders not only to acquire a precious object but to own a piece of history of movies, since the Carlton has served as a set for many. Some of the lots include the furniture of the Alfred Hitchcock, Jean Dujardin, Grace Kelly and Sean Connery suites, as well as crystal chandeliers and many paintings from the early 20th century French school.
In 2023, the Carlton Cannes will show its new allure imagined by Tristan Auer and the French architect Richard Lavelle.
