The Macallan 50 anniversary malt

A unique and splendid bottle will be traded during the first auction of the year by Aguttes in the fancy Neully-sur-Seine. It is a 55 years old bottle of a Macallan single malt, distilled in 1928 by the mythic distillery Macallan-Glenlivet, one of the fewest to continue operating during the war, and bottled in 1983. The final price is expected to be between 35,000 and 45,000 euros.
This precious comes in a branded wooden box with a leather cinch. A signed letter gives prove of authenticity, signed by cellar master Allan G. Shiach with a singular advise : « Sip it sparingly on special occasions but for the most part treat it as a miser treats his gold. » The bottle was imported by the Societé Corade and has remained in France on the hands of the same owner.
The Great Wines and Spirits auction will take place on March 31st at Aguttes Neully.
