The EVOK literary prize
by Abdon FLORES
Evok Hotels collection is a dynamic group founded in 2014 by Pierre Bastid, Romain Yzerman and Emmanuel Sauvage. The hotel collection is characterized by a French touch masterly achieved in the Nolinski, the Brach, the Sinner, the Cour des Vosges or the Hameau de la Volière. Since hotels and literature have always had a historical bond, the edgy group has recently launched the EVOK literary prize.
Emmanuel Sauvage has teamed up with the literary skills of novelist Tristane Banon and experienced novelist and culture journalist Emmanuelle de Boysson to concrete the project. The EVOK literary award will recognize the best summer book. The awarded novel must have “that very special state of mind that goes with summer season.” The jury, composed by people from the world of culture and media, will change every year.

The committee award for the first edition is composed by: Keren Ann, David Bellemere, Laurence Benaïm, Karima Charni, Marie Drucker, Raphaël Enthoven, Laurence Ferrari, Aurélie Saada and Bernard Werber. In the first meeting of the jury, six novels published during the year were selected.
« Le dernier juif d’Europe » by Joann Sfar chez Albin Michel.
« Les coeurs inquiets » by Lucie Paye chez Gallimard.
« L’école du ciel » by Élisabeth Barillé chez Grasset.
« Cette inconnue » by Anne-Sophie Stefanini chez Gallimard.
« La mustang rouge de mon père » by Isabelle Miller chez Lattès.

The award ceremony will take place on May 27th in the Suzanne Suite of the Brach Hotel, a suite designed by Philippe Starck.
