The Harcourt suite – Hotel Barrière Le Fouquet’s
by Abdon FLORES
The Hotel Barrière Le Fouquet’s Paris has been recently renewed, an opportunity for the hotel to be customized in any possible way. This occasion was rapidly taken by the Studio Harcourt, the famous photographic studio specialized in portraits. The Studio has designed an exceptional suite in this already exceptional hotel. The so called Harcourt Suite has 200 m² and it occupies the last floor of the building. It pays homage to the celebrities who used to come to Le Fouquet’s like Josephine Baker, Edith Piaf, Jean Gabin or even such an actual character as Quentin Tarrantino.
Le Fouquet’s has always been associated to the showbiz world; it used to be here where the French movie industry celebrated its laureates and where Harcourt portraits found a home. It is not a surprise that a suite called Harcourt crowns this emblem of the Champs Elysées. It was designed in collaboration with decorator Jacques Garcia, and the idea was to recreate, as much as possible, the original Harcourt Studio back in the 30’s of last century.
On request, the living room can be transformed into a photo studio with a timeless atmosphere evoking preterit epochs. Of course, portraits are a main décor of the suite: Laetitia Casta languishing allure, Gérard Philippe mysterious sight or even an amazing Marlene Dietrich imbibed in l’air du temps. Price of the Harcourt suite by night: 20,000 €.
