Motorola razr 2019 – reinvention of an icon

Probably one of the most audacious designs in the mobile phone history was the Razr clamshell. Its portability, nice hold and kind of radiated defiance made of this gadget a truly must have. It was, fifteen years ago, a fashionable phone. Well, the Motorola razr is back and is the first-ever clamshell-style flexible display smartphone that folds completely, bringing a unique, mobile consumer experience.
Motorola developed and tested over 20 different prototypes during initial consumer research phases. As it turns out, the clamshell design was the right solution. It has great portability, without compromising the big screen experience consumers highly value. Again, the razr brings style and craftsmanship to smartphones. Constructed utilizing premium stainless steel and 3D Gorilla Glass, the outer shell is protective yet premium in-hand. Like the original RAZR, the new one is slim and sleek, avoiding stark contrast in colors and materials.
The firm engineered an industry first, patent-protected zero-gap hinge that allows both sides of the customized polymer flexible display system to remain perfectly flush when closed and protects the display from debris and dust. Also, the antenna was re-designed to fit in a space twice as small as today’s smartphones. The device is coated to offer water resistance and splash-proof protection.
Smartphones tend to get bigger; not the case with the razr’s which is going compact. When more immersive experience needed, the 6.2-inch Flex View display with 21:9 aspect ratio offers a fine performance. On razr’s external 2.7-inch interactive Quick View display, it’s possible to interact with information on the go, making it easy to stay connected while remaining present in the moment. It is possible to make calls, reply to messages, pay with a tap, control music, take selfies, use Google assistant and access customized settings, like turning on or off Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, the Hotspot and more, all without ever opening the phone.
Motorola razr will be available in France from December.
