Macramé Noir – La Perla 65th anniversary
by Abdon FLORES
To celebrate six decades of craft and quality, La Perla has launched Macramé Noir, a 65th Anniversary Collection, designed by Creative Director Alessandra Bertuzzi. Macramé originated from Arab weavers in the 13th century and survived many incarnations as decorative fringing on linen to art created by seafarers. La Perla’s founder Ada Masotti introduced three signature techniques to the world of lingerie (frastaglio, macramé and soutache). The 65th Anniversary Collection is based on one of the brand’s signature crafts.
The collection is made up of statement pieces and tailored separates such as trousers and blazers that are designed, just like lingerie, to fit and flatter every inch of the female form. Each piece features an exclusive macramé design created for La Perla in Switzerland on traditional looms. This sensual openwork design has a beautiful effect on bare skin and is further adorned with black hand-placed Swarovski crystals.
The collection is a limited edition and will be available online and in select stores worldwide from November.
