I’M Not A Trophy – YellowKorner

by Abdon FLORES

The project I’m not a Trophy was created in 2016 by French singer and photographer Arno Elias with a very specific aim: raise awareness on animals in danger of extinction. It’s frightening to know that only 3,200 tigers exist on this planet nowadays or that 1,500 Rothschild giraffes are the last specimens of this fascinating mammal. Well, that’s true since Earth has lost half of its wildlife in the last 40 years…

This second edition of the campaign intends to sensitize the new generations about this shocking matter. In order to help with this gigantic task, Mr. Elias has paired with fashion icon and actress Cara Delevingne so the campaign can reach as many youngsters as possible. A series of limited pictures will be put on sale to raise funds to help  endangered species; the limited edition will match the number of individuals left, i.e. 2,500 photos of the zebra since there are only 2,500 left in the savannah.

“Our pictures are limited as well as these animals: 1 elephant is killed every 15 minutes; 110 tigers are downed every year; in 1940 there were 450,000 lions, today they last 20,000…” This sort of attiring slogan will be displayed by the other major sponsor of the project, the galleries YellowKorner around the world. The limited edition photos by Arno Elias will be exhibited in the many stores the gallery owns all over the world. The expo will go from August 29th through October 30th.
