Lolea No. 5, premium Sangria

by Abdon FLORES

Lolea is a Spanish brand of premium Sangria that is coming to France to find a place in a rather tough market. But global warming seems to fit well for refreshing beverage producers, at least in the ephemeral Summer of Paris, so a product like this kraft sangria has a fair chance to succeed. Usually, sangria is a homemade beverage made from red wine; but it’s also possible to make it with whine wine in which case is called clarea. Now, could it be done with rosé? The answer is positive.

A trendy, engraved bottle, an appealing label, a catchy name… but more important than that, a tasty sangria: the Lolea No. 5 is really more than a mere add. This Rosé sangria is assembled from rosé wine (garnacha and tempranillo) giving a pale pink hue with hibiscus and ginger notes, and almost no tannins. Its low alcohol content (8%) and fine bubbles have a frizzante touch that can really be a thirst quencher or a good choice fto prepare cocktails.

The Lolea No. 5 is a clever addition to Lolea No. 1, No.2, Brut and Organic. As a matter of fact, this rosé sangria can be as refreshing as white wine and complex as a red wine. The 750 ml bottle will be sold in edgy stores for 12 €.
