agnes b. FW 19/20
by Antonio IRDA
The already mythical designer Agnes Aimée Troublé, better known as agnes b., decided to show the men’s and women’s collection at the same time. The very wearable clothes of this fashion veteran were shown at a crowded runway in the Palais Chaillot, an emblematic and historical site of Paris.
This year is the 40th anniversary of the snap cardigan, a piece that agnes b. designed in 1979. As the cardigan -which has sold over 2,2 million pieces around the world-, most of the garments in the collection could be timeless. We can say that this was a Parisian collection, with berets and wool hats pinpointing an style you can easily identify in the left bank of the Seine. But it was also international, with a clear wink to Africa whose colors were present in some of the looks.
The agnes b. woman is rather juvenile, with a dreamy attitude and a naïf allure; more the kind of woman who enjoys a chat about literature than the one who prefers going out late night. The agnes b. man is, on the contrary, virile with a certain allure of the 70s, the kind of men who were used to take travel as an opportunity to dress well.
