King Marcel – Lafayette
A few weeks ago, during the International Burger Day in October, Tripadvisor France published its ranking for the best places to eat hamburgers in the country. Most of the names on the list are not certainly the usual places to eat fast food since these are restaurants where premium burgers are served. King Marcel was awarded with the 4th place on that list. Founded in 2013 by a restaurateur, Jean-Christophe Cons, and a marketing specialist, Christophe San Miguel, the concept developed by both has been successful: to advocate for French authentic ingredients.
With its red-and-blue logo and My burger is French moto, King Marcel is a franchise that has gained enough merits to be in the top ten. Probably the main reason to make it till number 4 is meat quality. Boeuf Limousin is almost a certificate of savor, and it’s the meat used to make what is known as “gourmet burgers”, a luxury in the world of hamburgers. Besides, buns are home made and cheeses are AOP or IGP products. Every two weeks, a new burger du Marché is proposed, an option that takes advantage of the wide variety French cuisine has.
Served in three sizes, king (350 g), classic (280 g) and small you can find up to 6 different burger styles, most of them playing with the name Marcel, like the Marcel Jackson (with aged cheddar) or the Marcel Duchamp (with Emmental IGP). By Fall 2018 the chain owns already ten restaurants all over France, and their tasty burgers are conquering more and more palates. The openings at Levallois and rue Lafayette are a clear signal of the notable success the brand is having in France.
