Ralph Lauren x Vanity Fair
by Abdon FLORES
Ralph Lauren is celebrating his 50th anniversary as a fashion designer. And this is quite an achievement for a man whose classic, refined style conquered the taste of a nation where casual is the currency when talking about clothes. Mr. Lauren entered the fashion world for a rather small door: designing ties. From there, men’s fashion was a logical step that Mr. Lauren did with fortune.
The sports world was the DNA for Ralph Lauren, specially niche sports like Polo whose essence eventually became the symbol of the brand. His passion for cars made of him a notable collector, and some automotive spirit oozes from his creations. After many celebrations during the main Fashion Weeks around the world, it was Paris, the Fashion Week that closes the season, the last scale to cheer Mr. Lauren’s 50 years of creation.
Supported by Vanity Fair France and her fashion and lifestyle editor, Virginie Mouzat, a splendid event was thrown at the fancy Saint Germain store. VIP’s, international editors, influencers, and special guests gathered on Saturday 29th to toast long life to one of the best fashion designers nowadays. The party went far into the heart of Saint Germain, one of the most parisian neighbourhoods, recalling every one there that the voice of fashion usually becomes a wild cry at night.
