Voutilainen – 217QRS

Kari Voutilainen strikes back with a new timepiece on this Baselworld edition. Belonging to the category of Exceptional Mechanics, the Voutilainen 217QRS features a wide range of uniquely-Voutilainen stylistic elements both in its exterior as well as its movement design. Its 39 millimeters-wide and 11.5 millimeters-thick case is crafted from platinum, white gold or rose gold to create extremely limited series of just 10 pieces in each material. The dial, hidden behind a double anti-reflective sapphire crystal has been engine-turned and set with gold applied numerals for top-tier quality in execution.

 

 

The movement, based on the Vingt-8 design, features two escapement wheels, where they give a direct impulse to the impulse roller. A power reserve of 65 hours is achieved and the additional functionality of a retrograde date with an easy-set feature integrated into the crown. It is a hand-wound in-house movement, with 21 jewels, and 18,000 vib/h. Hours, minutes, subsidiary seconds and retrograde date in center. Water-resistant to 30 meters (3 bar/100 ft).
